Balance Beam Caterpillar
This balance beam is a highly original and well thought out interactive play design, which is fun for children to sit on and play around as well as encouraging the development of coordination and balance.
The balance beam gradually winds sideways and there is a gradual incline and decline on the walking surface to provide more interest.
The caterpillar is a whopping 24 ft long and comes to you in 6 ft sections which can easily be fixed to the ground. Design incorporates anti slip surface and height of surface ranges between 10" and 14" excluding height of head.
Made in oak,  the beauty of this piece is its naturalness, as you can still see the shape of the original tree in it. Of course, oak is also naturally incredibly durable.
This balance beam caterpillar goes well with our butterfly sculpture, to illustrate the life cycle of a butterfly.

We decided to create this oak dragon's head and tail for living willow projects, but you can use them for anything you like.
Our design used the dragon head and tail to add the finishing touches to a creation in willow. We hope that this gives you the inspiration to create your own design for your garden or outdoor area, by featuring the dragon set amongst foliage or a material of your choice.
If you would like to know more about the use of living willow for creating large scale interactive projects, we can offer some advice and assistance.
Please note that the willow is not included with this dragon sculpture.

Children's Play Equipment 'Wishing Tree'
A highly interactive piece of play equipment, this item was originally developed as a ‘wishing tree’ with double sided leaves forming individual chalk boards for children to write or draw on.
The giant chunky leaves are easy to remove and replace on their individual pegs and the tree is designed to be placed against a wall taking up a minimal amount of floor space. A grainy and knotty piece of timber forms a natural looking trunk highly contrasted by the richly coloured foliage.
The basic design is highly adaptable; the leaves can be made in a variety of colour ways or substituted with fruits or birds, or the main foliage area could be coated to create a large chalk board. Ideal for indoor or outdoor use.

These highly versatile play screens are a really exciting and interactive way of dividing space and creating designated areas for a variety of activities and play.
This particular version was commissioned for a play group and features a series of panels depicting our ever popular minibeasts in low relief and brilliant colours. Strategically placed portholes, peepholes and crawl-throughs add additional interactive play opportunities and the lively decoration provides the basis for many hours of story telling and make-believe.
These screens are designed to be sited permanently with each panel positioned into slots in the posts set in the ground. However, further flexibility can be offered by free-standing units.
